Happy International Women's Day!

My journey started with this woman who gave me my name! On my journey, my mom and Aunties guided me with love, strength, culture, and resilience. They covered me in hard Truths about our people and our history. They guided me with gentle hands and sometimes harsh voices all in the sake of preservation of our culture and the belief in breaking generational curses.

As an Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) and Huadenosuanee (Oneida) woman I have embraced my culture and it guides me in the work I am so very proud of in Indian Country. I am truly living out not just my dreams but also theirs. I stand tall and make quiet impact throughout my work. I unapologetically speak and share who we are and how we create sustainability for the next seven generations.

Chi Miigwetch and Yaw^ko (Thank you) to these amazing women, I am forever grateful for them as they now guide me as ancestors.
